The Porter Family : Golden Hour at the Lake

Let me tell you about my friend Savana. Savana is a mama to three beautiful girls and she owns her own bridal boutique called Savy’s Chic Bridal Boutique. You NEED to check it out! Not only do they carry the most beautiful gowns, but I assure you that you’ll receive top notch service, because it’s just the kind of wonderful person that Savana is.

Her and Matt started coming to me for Santa sessions a couple of years ago and I have had the privilege of getting to watch these little girls grow in front of my lens. At first, their oldest, Raelee, wanted absolutely nothing to do with me. I think since then, I have grown on her a little bit and now the girls seem to genuinely enjoy having their photos taken. This time though, Miss Raelee fell asleep on the car ride to the lake, and let’s just say she wasn’t willing to match her sisters’ energy and enthusiasm on this particular day.

After a bit of coaxing, she decided that it wasn’t so bad, and joined with the girls in picking flowers for their mama. It’s sweet moments like these that I wish I could bottle up for my clients, and I suppose, in a way, I can. Georgia’s chunky little fingers wrapped around the flower stem. Colette’s big smile when she realized she could stick them in her hair. And Raelee, overjoyed to be handing one to her sweet mama.

I cherish these golden summer nights, and even more so when it’s with sweet families like this.
